Waiting Staff Assistant – Restaurant

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up support equipment and decorative elements, control stock levels, and ensure proper conditions and usability of spaces, equipment, and utensils;
  • Prepare dining areas and set tables for different meals; prepare trays, service trolleys, and tables for service;
  • Prepare side stations (bread, butter and other spreads, containers with seasonings and condiments, etc.);
  • Welcome and assist guests, present the menu, and explain the different dishes and beverages;
  • Clear and reset tables after each guest, collecting utensils and preparing the table for the next service;
  • Collect table linen (tablecloths, napkins, etc.) and deliver them to the laundry;
  • Store and preserve beverages intended for daily consumption in the section and replenish stock as needed;
  • Organize the dining room, and transport and store food and beverages displayed for sale;
  • Carry out cleaning, organization, and hygiene of permanently used utensils in accordance with applicable hygiene and safety standards;
  • Assist in stock supervision and report shortages to the supervisor;
  • Request maintenance intervention when equipment or facility malfunctions occur;
  • Assist with inventory, counting utensils and all permanently used materials;
  • Request the intervention of the superior (Head Waiter) in case of guest complaints;
  • Ensure proper shift handover and communication of service-related information.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional course as a Waiter/Waitress or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in IT applications related to Food & Beverage operations;
  • Good knowledge of hotel restaurant operations and customer service;
  • Good knowledge of culinary specialties and wines;
  • Good knowledge of support equipment, beverage storage, and hygiene and safety techniques;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, listening, and empathy skills;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, adaptability to change, flexibility, dynamism, and proactivity.
